Sometimes regardless of how hard we work to diligently commit ourselves to the things God has called us to people in the natural will somehow count us out. King David was a committed leader who was overlooked by his father when Samuel was asked by God to anoint the next King of Israel. Once David was requested by his father to enter into the lineup with his brothers the text says that Samuel stood in front of him and placed the horn over his head the oil which represents God's anointing for service flowed freely. David was the first to be Drafted by God to serve as God's King instead of the peoples King.
